Cadillac's 564PS CTS-V Priced from £56,495 in the UK

The most powerful Cadillac ever, the new CTS-V, will arrive on UK shores this February carrying a base price of £56,495 (approx $82,300 US) for the manual gearbox version and £58,995 for the automatic transmission model. The left-hand drive only CTS-V is fitted with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine that delivers 564PS (415 kW) and 747 Nm of torque, launching the car to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and on to 191 mph -175 mph for the automatic transmission.

2009 Cadillac CTS Being Recalled for Airbag Related Problem

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall of 12,662 MY2009 Cadillac CTS vehicles due to a software problem within the passenger-airbag sensing system. The electronic glitch may lead to the disablement of the front passenger air bag when it should be enabled or vice-versa. GM's dealers will reprogram 2009 CTS' passenger sensing system module free of charge with the recall expected to begin on or about November 18, 2008.

Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon: New Photo Gallery

GM has released a new image gallery of its 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon containing material from a shootout in Paris that provides us with some neat photos of the stylish estate in the picturesque capital of France. Furthermore, the company also published a few more detailed shots of the upscale station-wagon that is due to go on sale on both sides of the Atlantic in spring 2009. Like the CTS sedan, the Sport Wagon will be offered with a base 263HP 3.6-liter V6 and a 304 Hp 3.6-liter direct injection V6 matched with either a six-speed manual or an electronically controlled six-speed automatic. European consumers will also be able to opt for a diesel variant equipped with GM's 250HP 2.9-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine.

As the 2009 CTS-V heads into production, Cadillac is stepping up its efforts to create a buzz around its new BMW M5 rival. This video that was created by the folks over at Cadillac's official blog showcases the 556HP strong CTS-V at the Monticello Raceway in New York and at the Nurburgring track, where John Heinricy completed a full lap of the Nordschleife in 7:59.32 which is the fastest recorded time for a production saloon. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V 556HP to Start from $59,995

The all-new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V will be priced from $59,995 (€44,700 with the current exchange rates) in the US market seriously undercutting the less powerful though quite possibly a bit more rewarding from a driver's point of view, 507HP BMW M5 which costs in the States $85,100 (€63,500). Aside from the 556HP supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and the Magnetic Ride Control suspension, the CTS-V comes standard with plenty of features, including a hand-crafted cabin, a 6-speed manual transmission and a Bose surround sound system with a 40-gigabyte hard drive with a USB port. -Continued

General Motors gave the members of the press a second (or was that a third…) chance to check out the new CTS Sport Wagon during a media preview event at its Detroit central offices. The snazzy looking CTS Sport Wagon will make its (fourth or fifth) official introduction at the Paris Motor Show next month, and will be available at dealer showrooms in spring 2009. New Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon Available from 2009

Cadillac unveiled a stylish station-wagon version of its new CTS at this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance classic car show in Monterey, California on 15 August 2008. Dubbed the Sport Wagon, the latest addition to the CTS range follows in the footsteps of its German counterparts as it pays more attention to style than function. While it rides on the same 113.4-inch (2,880-mm) wheelbase as the CTS sedan, it’s 0.3-inch (7 mm) shorter that its 4-door sibling. However, it still offers a generous cargo area of 25 cubic feet (720 litres) behind the rear seats.

As expected, the CTS Sport Wagon’s powertrains are identical to those of the sedan including two gasoline units, a base 263 HP 3.6-liter V6 and a 304 Hp 3.6-liter direct injection V6 matched with a six-speed manual or an electronically controlled six-speed automatic. As is the case on the sedan, CTS Sport Wagon includes AWD as an option. Europe will also get a 250 HP 2.9-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine. -Continued
