2009 Audi A1 Rendering

A couple of weeks ago Audi confirmed that its working on a new MINI rival named A1 that’ll be exclusively built at VW Group’s plant in Brussels. Despite the fact that the German carmaker avoided giving any specific details, one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to make ends meet. As we’ve previously reported, the A1 will be based on VW Group’s supermini platform (VW Polo, Seat Ibiza & Skoda Fabia) using exclusively turbocharged engines ranging from the 122Hp 1.4 TSI to the 200Hp 2.0 TFSI. Sales of the A1 are expected to start in Europe towards the end of 2009 with the US following in early 2010.
